This is more of a thing in Trump’s America than in the civilised world, but unfortunately that alone is enough to make it a threat to the entire planet.

1. Support for Trump is much stronger among Evangelical men than women
2. Notice Falwell’s extraordinary tweet (screenshot below), accusing the Democrats of being fascists and saying the Right are the ones that need to harden up. Hard to say whether this is unconscious projection or strategic disinformation
3. The Dems are also liberal fascists, logic not being Falwell’s strong point
4. The forces ranged against Christianity are not only liberal - and neoliberal? - but occult (“witchcraft”). Soros has been associated with the occult as well - hard to say whether this is a connection of just old-fashioned anti-semitism.
5. The Americain “Christian Zionist” relation to Israel is complicated. On the one hand they have this premillenial dispensationalism, which prophesises a Greater Israel before the Rapture, but on the other hand...
6. Bolsonaro is also evangeligal. Why am I not surprised?
