Protests outside UK Parliament

A couple of days ago a number of Remainer MPs and journalists were aggressively accosted outside the Houses of Parliament. See for example

Comments:

  1. All the aggressors were men, and all but one of the victims were women, the exception being the journalist Owen Jones - who is gay.
  2. The aggressors seemed to be engaged in what the Freudians would call “projection”, calling Anna Soubry a Nazi and saying she is doing Hitler’s work, and calling Jones a bully (despite a dozen of them surrounding him and shouting at him at the time)
  3. There’s already a right-wing conspiracy theory abroad that at least one of the aggressors is a security services agent. The man is filmed apparently passing something to one of Souby’s staff (actually, he’s playing the adolescent boy’s game of shoulder-barge - and losing). That man is also it seems in the BNP, so presumably is a police operative there. The film seems to have been taken down from Facebook and Twitter, but of course will reappear.
  4. At least initially, the aggressors wore hi-viz jackets in self-identification with the Yellow Vests. The antifa group Hope Not Hate has identified them as a group called the Liberty Defenders. Hope Not Hate’s website.
